Interior Young Gallery Map

Layout of the building

There are two entrances to the Young Gallery, one facing towards the Market Square which has steps, and another inside Market Walk which provides step free access.

The Young Gallery is on the first floor and is accessible via the stairs and lifts at the front and back of the building. The lift buttons are reachable from a seated position.

The Young Gallery has three exhibition spaces; Gallery 1, Gallery 2 and Gallery 3. Gallery 2 has a short flight of steps leading up to it. We have a ramp which can be placed over these to provide easier access. If this is not in place, please alert a member of staff.

The doors throughout the building are kept open so you do not need to open or close doors during your visit.

Seating

Some seating can be found in our exhibition spaces, please do use these to rest while enjoying the displays.

Assistance animals

In order to protect the collection, we can only allow assistance animals in the Young Gallery.

Driving to the Gallery

The Young Gallery does not have its own car park.

The closest public car park is:
Central Car Park
Salisbury
SP2 7RW

Both short and long stay parking is available, and parking charges apply. The car park has designated spaces for blue badge holders. For more information about parking in Salisbury, visit Wiltshire Council Website: Parking Salisbury (opens new window).

Quiet times and areas

We are generally a quiet gallery but do get busier on Saturdays and during the school holidays. For the quietest time we recommend an afternoon weekday visit.

Toilets

There are no public toilets accessible in the building. Instead, visitors are directed to use the public toilets situated in the Market Square a short distance from the building.

Food and Drink

Food and drink should not be consumed in the Young Gallery, to protect the artwork and prevent pests. Visitors are welcome to drink water in the space.

Baby feeding

We welcome our visitors nursing their babies in all areas of the Young Gallery. Please ask us if you need any assistance.

Should you have any access queries please email us on YoungGallery@wiltshire.gov.uk (opens new window).
